The possibilities are endless when it comes to reasons why you and your family or group should saddle up and take a half-day, day or extended ride or pack trip into the scenic High Sierra wilderness. Here are some ideas of trips we'd like to take you on. Not all of these are scheduled at the moment, so be sure to call Charley or Judy Mills at (559) 565-3404 to check on availability. And if you've got an idea of your own on what kind of trip you'd like to take with us, let us know!

NEW: All-day ride to the top of Mitchell Peak: Enjoy the spectacular Sierras with this 5-6 hour all-day ride to the summit of Mitchell Peak. Includes lunch and drinks.

For this ride, we recommend the following: Bring sunscreen, camera, sunglasses, coat or windbreaker, hat, rain poncho, long pants (no shorts) and solid shoes (no sandals or flip-flops). For riders 12 and older (riders 12-16 must be accompanied by an adult). Check our rates page for pricing.

Star Gazing Trips to Mitchell Peak: At 10,365 feet, the air is clear and the night sky is untouched by man-made lights. Bring your telescope and your astronomer friends for great overnight or extended trips to view the heavens.

Cattle Drive: Start planning right now for the Horse Corral Pack Station's Cattle Drive set for March, 2001. This is a very special three days, two nights trip with all meals included. The cattle drive is your BEST CHANCE YET to see real cowboys in action. Call Judy or Charley Mills today at 559-565-3404 for prices and more information.

Women-Only and Single Ladies Trips: Gather together all your girlfriends from church, school, work or the neighborhood for a day trip or extended camping outing into the back country. Our skilled packers will make sure the trips are safe and enjoyable by providing guidance and competent pack horses for every rider.

Photography Trips: Buy lots of film and saddle up for a trip to the most drop-dead gorgeous mountain scenery you can find. Both amatuer and professional photographers will never forget the scenes that can fill your viewfinder in the High Sierras!

Wildflower and Botanical Appreciation Trips: If you've already seen the Giant Sequoia redwoods nearby, book a Horse Corral pack trip into the back country to study and enjoy an endless panorama of trees, flowers etc. through pristine meadows, along untouched ridgetops, and in dramatic canyons.

Fishing the High Sierras: We can't provide guided fishing tours, but we can get you next to some of the most unspoiled, serene lakes and streams in the High Sierras. Bring your gear and your knowledge of angling, and go after Golden, Rainbow and Brown Trout at Seville Lake, Lost Lake, Jennie Lake and others.

Hunting Trips: Like our fishing trips, Horse Corral does not provide guided hunts. But if you know what you are doing and need skilled packers to get you way to your favorite hunting spot for a spot, extended or all-expense pack trip, we will provide everything you need to go after back country game.

Packer School: If you are interested in learning the skills needed to pack others into remote mountain areas, then inquire with Charley or Judy Mills about their Packer School that will be available.

Escape the crowds and experience the solitude of giant trees and roaring waters in the High Sierra. With gentle stock and competent packers, any trip to the back country will be one to remember!
